About Me

A little bit about me….. I was born in Yorkshire in November 1938 at the start of the second World War, unfortunately my childhood years were plagued with illness … and a dreadful stammer. In June 1960 I was conscripted into the armed forces as a National Serviceman. I served two years, most of that time was spent in France, as a Military Policeman at S.H.A.P.E. (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) which was based just outside Paris. Whilst there I worked with American and French Military Policemen. All the work involved protecting both highly decorated personnel and ‘Secret’ documents. I had the credentials to arrest, if it was necessary, high ranking officers and had access to numerous Top Secret files. during my time there I became an athlete of some note, which opened many doors for me. i also had the incredible good fortune to see the A-12 Blackbird before it was announced to the world, an aircraft that was officially able to fly at 95,000ft and at 2,221 mph or at Mach 3.35…. a memory which will live with me forever
